Annina C. Gizzarelli

North ProvidenceGizzarelli, Annina C. "Clara", 98, of Angela Court, died Tuesday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by her nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Sebastiano "John" Gizzarelli, and mother of the late John S. Gizzarelli. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Antonio and Vittoria (DeAngelis) DeAngelis, she had lived in North Providence for many years, previously living in Providence. Clara, along with her late husband John, were the proprietors of the Knight Street Five and Ten Cent Store on Federal Hill for many years. She was a communicant of Saint Lawrence Church, North Providence, and a former communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Providence. She was the loving aunt of Ronald and Anna Passarelli, and their family, Ronald Jr., Alfred and Peggy, Lori, Nicholas, Joshua, Shannon, Matthew, and Meghan Passarelli, Linda and Paul Jones, and their children, Paul III, and Keith Jones. She was also the aunt of Florence Mildner, Anthony, Joseph, Roland, and David DeAngelis, Irene DiOrio, Evelyn Mazzaro, Peter Benedetti, Marie D'Andrea, Janice Healey, Bernice Martino, Teresa Rossi, and Camille Rainone. She was a sister of the late Joseph, Albert, and Louis DeAngelis, Rose Benedetti, and Josephine Passarelli. The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Lawrence Church, Woonasquatucket Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday, 5 - 8 pm.
