Arlene M. Duffy

Miss Duffy was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Kathleen C. ( Burke ) Duffy. She was born in West Warwick, RI and had been a resident of Providence for over 70 years.

She was the sister of the late Rev. Francis Charles Duffy, O.P.

Miss Duffy was a graduate of Pembroke College ( now Brown University ) and attended The Rhode Island School of Design. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the fields of neurology and surgery. She then worked as an administrative assistant for the RI Parent Information Network-( a division of the U.S. Department of Education ) department of Special Disabilities.

She was a member of the Pembroke Club of Providence, Hamilton House and The Dunes Club, Narragansett. She was an avid reader, enthusiastic gardener and greatly interested in interior decoration and design. She took part in activities of the Humane Society of the United States and national branch of the ASPCA.

Miss Duffy was a communicant of St. Pius V Catholic Church for over 70 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday August 9, 2023 at 10:00 am in St. Pius V Catholic Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence. Burial with her parents will be private.
