Armand R. Tougas

Armand R Tougas, 81, of Brookwood Road, died Wednesday evening, August 24, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Muriel V. (Bosse) Tougas for nearly 60 years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Albert and Alexandrine (Dube) Tougas. Armand was a manager for Stop & Shop Supermarkets for many years before retiring in 2000. Previously, he had worked at the First National Supermarkets. He was a faithful communicant of Saint Mark Church, Cranston, and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife Muriel, he leaves three sons, Robert M. (Jane) Tougas, Ronald R. Tougas, and Dennis G. (Laura) Tougas; a daughter, Cheryl A. (Scott) Raposa; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Gray) Lyons, Jeffrey (Whitney) Tougas, Alicia, Michael, Daniel, Allison, and Lauren Tougas, and Benjamin Raposa; and a great grandson James Armand Tougas. He was a brother of the late Rev. Roger Tougas, AA. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Saint Mark Church, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours Sunday 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
