Arthur Dias

Arthur Dias, 72, passed away September 24, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Izzi) Dias; they were happily married for over 20 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Pacheco) Dias; loving brother of Mary Jane Auber; cherished uncle of Christine Roderick (David), John Auber (Jennifer), Monica Aleixo (Michael), and the late Keith Auber (Lisa); adored brother in law of Karen Lebeau, Debra Champagne, and the late John Auber; cousin and great-uncle of several.

He served in the Merchant Marines for many years and with them traveled around the world 3 times. He worked as an engineer for the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Arthur suffered with severe neuropathy in later years and was limited in mobility. For all his ailments he had an enormous capacity to see the world through a prism of a glass half full – recapping adventures at sea and travels enjoyed. He kept a positive outlook and strived to capture as much of life in a meaningful way.

His visitation will be held Tuesday 8:30-9:30 a.m.in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Raymond Church, 1240 North Main St, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
