Arthur Buddy H. Sherring

Arthur H. “Buddy” Sherring, 88, passed away peacefully under hospice care on March 9, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Kunigunda “Gunda” (Less) Sherring; son of the late George and Inez (Dillman) Sherring; devoted father of George A. Sherring and his wife Lynn, Deborah A. Sherring and her husband Leo J. Perrotta, and Katherine D. Sherring and her partner Neal Venancio; cherished grandfather of 3 and great-grandfather of 3; brother of Bessie Brotherton, Muriel Pierce and the late Harry Sherring, Ethel Barker, Pat Moran and Ollie Carmody.

Buddy served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany where he met his wife of 65 years. He worked for the Providence School Department as the head custodian for the Camden Avenue School. He was also a proud member of the American Legion.

Visitation and funeral will be held Thursday 9-10:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
