Barbara (Hanuschak) Baccari, 81, passed away November 2, 2018.

She was the beloved wife of Louis Baccari for 59 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Chubka) Hanuschak. Barbara was the devoted mother of Nancy Baccari, Michael Baccari and his wife Elizabeth, Susan Fagan and her husband Jonathan, and Kristen Butler and her husband Sherwood; cherished grandmother of Jaime Baccari, Paige Achille, Matthew Baccari, Samantha Fagan, Evan Baccari and Louis Butler; and loving sister of George Hanuschak.

Barbara graduated Roger Williams Hospital for Nursing and led a long successful career as a nurse. She was the Director of Nursing at Scandinavian Home and Heritage Hills, but it was the time spent caring for her patients that made her most happy in her work.

She loved playing the slots, scrabble and a good card game with friends and family. Barbara was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan. You would often catch her in front of the TV yelling at her teams to make the play! She was a wonderful cook who passed on delicious recipes such as the best apple pies and chicken soup. Her family and friends will be filled with memories of her laugh, spirit and big heart.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Assoc., PO Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940.
