Barbara A. Greene

Greene, Barbara A., of North Providence, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Thomas E.Greene and they were married for 57 years.She was born in Providence on April 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Anna (Orabone) and Ezekiel Martinelli. Her siblings are Geraldine Egan,Judge John E. Martinelli and his wife Margaret and David E. Martinelli and his wife Leslie.Barbara worked as a math teacher for 26 years at La Salle Academy; and the Principal of Saint Augustine Elementary School for 3 years.Throughout her life, besides teaching, her principle love was her large family. She leaves her 5 children, Benjamin T. Greene,Julie A. Greene,Sean D. Greene, Anne B. Lombardi and Elizabeth A. Dufresne; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence.Visiting hours are omitted and burial will be private.
