Barbara Ann Higgins

Barbara Ann Higgins, age 94, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel E. Higgins, with whom she shared many years of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Born in Providence, Barbara was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lydia (Vincent) Arruda. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she spent many years as an administrator at the Fogarty Center, where she was respected for her kindness, professionalism, and commitment to helping others.

Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid walker, she treasured time spent outdoors and embraced each day with quiet strength and determination. Above all else, she loved her family. Her greatest happiness came from the moments she shared with those she held dear, and the bonds she nurtured throughout her life will remain a lasting gift to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving son, Marc Lacasse; her cherished grandson, Justin M. Lacasse; and her adored great-grandson, Jayden M. Lacasse. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her warmth, gentle spirit, and unwavering love. In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, George Arruda.

Barbara's family will remember her as a woman of grace, resilience, and deep compassion, whose love and guidance shaped generations. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Her funeral services and burial will be private.
