Carl A. Paolino

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Helen (Salvatore) Paolino.

Carl was an only child who graduated from Holy Ghost catholic school in Providence. He got married and had two daughters, Colleen and Denise, then remarried and had gained a stepson, Daniel. He had his youngest daughter, Angela, with his second wife, the late Johanna Paolino. He later became a regional manager of the Metropolitan Life Insurance agency in Warwick. After retiring, he went to work for thirty-five years at Sicilia’s restaurant on the Hill in Providence where they treated him like family.

His hobbies included antiquing, collecting records, playing bingo and going to casinos. He loved listening to music and attending Italian festivals with his whole family. Carl had a great sense of humor, always telling jokes, and his love for food earned him the nickname “Papa Pizza”. He adored his grandkids and great-grandkids, and he will be missed by so many friends and family.

He was the father of Colleen Lauridsen and her husband William, Denise Baxter and her husband Darrell, Angela Paolino Schulenberger and her husband Robert, and Daniel Paolino; grandfather of Joelle Leach and her husband David, Kyle Baxter, and Natalia and Dametri Schulenberger; and great-grandfather of Paityn and Graesyn Leach.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 12:00-1:30 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a service in the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Burial will be private.
