Carmen Guzman

Nació en Moca, República Dominicana, hija de los fallecidos Augusto y Emilia (Lantigua) García.

Carmen llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1991 con un solo objetivo: trabajar con empeño para reunirse con los ocho hijos que había dejado atrás. Trabajó durante varios años en la industria de la joyería antes de jubilarse.

Le encantaba lucir vestidos elegantes, tacones altos, joyas de oro y lápiz labial rojo. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia, bailar, jugar a la lotería, los “scratch tickets” y el bingo. Y le gustaban las rosas.

Fue una madre dedicada de Mary, Andrea, Ingrid, Jaquelina, José, Ana Iris, Gustavo, Rudy, Omar, Yarina, Augusto y la fallecida Mila; una abuela querida de 31 nietos y bisabuela de 30.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el miércoles 11 de junio de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en la funeraria PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, ubicada en el 971 de Branch Avenue, Providence. El funeral se celebrará el jueves 12 de junio de 2025, a las 10:00 a.m. en la misma funeraria, seguido por un servicio de oración a las 11:00 a.m. El entierro será en el cementerio North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence.

Carmen Guzman, age 91, of Providence passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jose Guzman.

Born in Moca, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Augusto and Emilia (Lantigua) Garcia.

Carmen came to the United States in 1991 and worked in the jewelry industry for several years before retiring. She enjoyed bingo and playing scratch tickets.

She was the mother of Mary, Andrea, Ingrid, Jaquelina, Jose, Ana Iris, Gustavo, Rudy, Omar, Yarina, Augusto and the late Mila. She was grandmother of 31 and great grandmother of 30.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.

Funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a service at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence.
