OBITUARY

Carmen J. Bucholz

June 18, 1946November 2, 2019

Carmen J. Bucholz, 73, passed away unexpectedly November 2, 2019.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Perez and Maria S. Merced. She was the beloved wife of Jose “KC” Ortiz Castro; loving mother of Jose Garcia and his wife Claudia; step-mother of Lisa Morales, Tony Ortiz and Christopher Ortiz; grandmother of Rickie and Deanna Garcia, Nicholas Morales and Amber Ortiz; sister of Juana Ortiz, Jose A. Ortiz, Lydia Montañez Merced, Josè R. Ortiz Merced and Julia Perez. She also leaves her beloved dog Brownie.

Carmen was the founder of the Puerto Rican Cultural Festival & Parade of RI. She was also part the Committee of Juan Pablo Duarte for the Dominican Community. She was a great supporter volunteer for the United Methodist Church, always helping the ones in need. Carmen was also part of the Latin Adult Day Care Center. She was always a loving supporter of many politicians such as David Cicilini, Scott Slatter, Nelly Gorbea and so many more. She promoted her Puetorrican Culture passing it on to many generations, as we love her like the mother of our PuertoRican Culture.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.

Jose you forgot to put how we all was in a bowling teams.. I had so much fun all gathered together as a big bowling family.. sending my condolences to you and the family she was a kind, funny and outgoing person!! She will be missed but never forgotten may she rest in paradise!!
