Carolyn J. Jennings

ProvidenceCarolyn J.(Smith) Jennings, 68, of Andem Street, died Friday at Roger Williams Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Joseph Jennings. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past May. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Walter O. and Lillian E. (Ellis) Smith, she was a life long city resident. Carolyn was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Summit Medical Center, Providence for twenty four years before retiring. She enjoyed family and friends, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Tracy J. Voccio, Shirley Jennings and Mary Jane George; two sons, Joseph W. Jennings and Robert R. Jennings; a god daughter, Cheryl Nacci, and twelve grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Barbara Norris. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting Hours Monday, 5 - 8 pm.
