East Providence Carolyn K. Washburn, 75, of Thurston Street, died Thursday at the V.A. Medical Center, Providence. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Robert F. Washburn, Sr. and Viola (Smigielski) Washburn, she lived in Riverside for the past four years. Carolyn was a Correctional Officer for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections and served her country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. She was a 1954 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She leaves a brother, John Washburn, Sr.; a niece, Synda (Washburn) Beron; five nephews, Robert, Kenneth, John, James and Jason Washburn; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be dearly missed by her beloved dog, "Baby". The funeral and burial will be private. Arrangements by Russell J.
