Catherine R. Kennedy

North Providence Catherine R. (Cullinane), Kennedy passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, surrounded by her angels. She was the wife of James J. Kennedy for 52 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Catherine R. (Masterson) Cullinane. She was a resident of North Providence and Narragansett. Catherine was a graduate of Saint Patrick's High School and Rhode Island College, with a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of the Holy Name School Alumni Association, Rhode Island College Alumni Association, Saint Anthony's Guild, and the Retired Providence Teachers Union.She taught in the Providence School System for 30 years before retiring. She taught at the former Regent Avenue School, Academy Avenue School, and the William D'Abate School. Catherine is survived by her loving husband James; her daughter, Cathleen Tager, and her husband, Carim, and her son, John W. Kennedy, and his wife Debra; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Gabriella Tager and Erick and Sarah Kennedy; and her brother, John Cullinane. She was the sister of the late Elaine M. Hemmerle.Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
