

Providence Celia M. Hunt, of Modena Avenue, died peacefully Monday morning, May 23, 2016, at home. Born in Coolaney, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Celia A. (O'Hara) Hunt. Celia worked for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Elderly Affairs, for many years before retiring in 2000, and previously worked for the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company for nearly forty years. She was a graduate of the Rockfield National School, Coolaney, Ireland, Saint Patrick High School, Providence, and attended Providence College. She was a faithful communicant of Saint Augustine Church and a member of the parish Rosary and Altar Society. She leaves a brother, Joseph R. Hunt, Sr.; a nephew, Joseph R. Hunt, Jr.; a grand niece and two grand nephews. She was a sister of the late Sr. Francis Hunt, O.S.F. The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence.
