

Charles K. Arlan, Sr., “Pops” 71, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anne E. (Croft) Arlan. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Kane and Gladys (Miller) Goodreau, and step father, George Goodreau. Charles worked as a textile finisher at Cranston Print Works for 25 years, before retiring in 1996. He was a longtime volunteer of the Elmwood Little League, enjoyed the lottery and had a profound sense of humor, who loved making everyone laugh. He leaves his children, Steven Arlan, Melissa Pitts, Charles Arlan, Jr., and his wife, Julia Arlan, Kenneth Arlan, Deborah Arlan, and Ashley Wilkinson; a step son, Joseph Cucinotta, III; a brother, Albert St. Jean; a sister, Shirley Arlan; fifteen grandchildren, including, Anne E. Arlan, who was his caretaker; and four great grandchildren. Charles was the brother of the late James, Robert, and William Arlan, Ethel Cahir, Stella Hartman, Mary Nardolillo, and Virginia Goodreau. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 7:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am, in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
