

Warwick: Pointek, Chester J. "Chet, " 83, of Brentwood Ave, passed away on Wednesday at Westview Health Care Center in West Warwick. He was the husband of the late Shirley E. (Ayers) Pointek for 35 years. Born in Willimantic, Ct, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marcella (Szalakiewicz) Piatek. Chet was a former Vice-President and General Manager of Tupperware Company for 12 years and later worked as a sales engineer at C. Cowles Co. and Phillips Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1991. He was a World War II Marine Corps Aviation Turret Gunner Veteran serving four years in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Air Medal for his bravery. He was an avid golf, loved College and Pro Football and enjoyed bowling and bocce. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen A. Abrams and her husband Kenneth of North Kingstown and Marcy M. Smith and her husband Jeff of Charlestown, and a grandson, Kyle J. Smith. He was the brother of the late Anna Willis and Jean Dygon. Funeral and visitation will be on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Ave, West Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
