She was the daughter of the late Alberico and Amalia (Pitassi) Izzi; wife of the late Amelio Ziroli; mother of Donna Cocozza, Dorene Ziroli, Denise Duckworth and her husband Scott, Diana Brockmiller and her husband Anthony, Dana Lyons, and Debra Dorsey and her husband Kevin; loving grandmother of Dean, Abigail, Amalia, Kyle, Maegan, Makenzie, Matthew and Melina, sister of Donald Izzi and the late Angelo Izzi.
Prior to retirement, Claudia worked as a lunch aide at the Martin Luther King, Jr. School in Providence for ten years. Claudia enjoyed bowling, bocce, going to the movies and the casino. She was the life of the party, always quick with a funny joke and her beautiful smile. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting all of the holidays in her home where she made everyone feel welcome. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She had a front row seat at every sporting event, play, recital and ceremony. Nana will be missed terribly, but never forgotten.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, 8:30-9:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
