

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Molly (Imondi) Galasso.
Cosimo was a chauffer and a caretaker for the former RI House Representative, Fred Lippitt, for over 40 years before retiring. Affectionately known as “the Mayor of Prospect Street”, Cosimo had an outgoing personality. He was also a member of the Highland Rod and Gun Club for many years and enjoyed daily breakfast at McDonald’s with his friends and later luncheons at Harriett’s Kitchen.
He was the father of Nancy Izzo and her husband Stephen and the late Cosimo Galasso, Jr.; grandfather of Stephanie and Stacia Izzo and Matthew and Monica Galasso and great grandfather of Colin Capuano, Liliana Bankauskas and Rocco Galasso. He was also the brother of the late Frank Galasso, Etta Simone and Margaret Schiano and proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
His visitation and funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston.
