Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late George A. and Adeline E. ( Monteiro ) Gomes.
Cynthia was always happy and had an infectious optimism on life. Always concerned about people and never being one to worry, she would tell those who were troubled “ it’ll be okay.” Cynthia was a very caring, empathetic and sympathetic person whose concern for others took precedence over herself. She loved music, coloring and volunteering at the Fogarty Center.
Cynthia attended the Harold Birch Vocational School in Providence. Never one to be coy, she was the social butterfly of The Elmhurst Extended Care Facility, which she called home.
Cynthia is survived by her beloved sister Donna M. Gomes of Providence.
Services will be held at a place and time to be announced.
