Darrell Kenneth Abbott, Sr.

Born in Providence, he was a son of Eileen D. (Cuckle) Abbott and the late David Abbott, Jr. He was the loving father of Darrell K. Abbott, Jr. and his wife Robin and the late Eric J. Abbott; grandfather of Darrell E. Abbott, Ryan R. Abbott, and Savanna Rose Abbott; brother of David “Ricky” Abbott and his wife Donna of Providence, and Diane Gaynor of Cranston; uncle of Cheryal Ann Lawrence and many other nieces and nephews.

Darrell’s family meant the world to him and his three grandchildren were his pride and joy.  He had strong faith and loved his church.  He enjoyed fishing, shooting and the outdoors.  Darrell was a jokester, always trying to play pranks and make people laugh.  He will be remembered for his generosity, love, kindness and always being available to help someone in need. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 26th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Victory Church, 321 Veazie Street, Providence, RI 02904.
