David P Shea

David Patrick Shea, 84, of North Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 13 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carol A (Kerwick) Shea for 56 years. Born is Providence on October 13, 1937, he was the son of the late James F. Shea and Margaret M. (Mooney) Shea.

David spent his 41-year career at Narragansett Electric Company (National Grid), where he was also a longtime member of the golf league before retiring in 1998. He served on the Board of Directors, as both chairman and secretary, of the Wave Federal Credit Union for 40 years. He also served honorably in the Army National Guard. He was a proud alumni member of Lasalle Academy, class of '55. A lifelong Catholic, David was a dedicated parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Providence for 51 years. An avid golfer, he enjoyed golfing during his retirement, a lifelong hobby he began after his high school years as a caddie at Trigg's Memorial Golf Course in Providence. He also spent his time traveling and at family events with his daughters. He especially enjoyed going to his granddaughter's dance recitals, soccer and lacrosse games, and loved watching them grow up!

He was the devoted Father of Kristine Shea-Jankuska and her husband, Robert A. Jankuska of Middletown, and Kathleen Shea of North Providence. He was the cherished grandfather of Margaret Rose Jankuska and Lily Grace Jankuska. He was the dear brother of the late Dorothy M. Colicci, Norma R Murray and James F. Shea, Jr. He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Augustine's Church, Mt. Pleasant Avenue on Friday, July 22, 2022.

Visting Hours will be held on Friday from Russell J, Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117), Warwick, RI from 9am-11am on Friday morning.

Burial with military honors will be held at the St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to the St. Augustine's Guardian Angel Fund (Tuition Assistance for St. Augustine's School Students), 635 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence, RI 02908.
