

Wakefield Baillargeon, Denis R., M.D., F.C.C.P., 63, of Matunuck, Rhode Island and Danielson, Connecticut, died Monday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Marie A. (McHugh) Baillargeon. They had been married for 34 years. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Roland and Marguerite (Decelles) Baillargeon. For the past twenty-five years, Dr. Baillargeon maintained a private medical practice in Putnam, Connecticut specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and sleep disorders. He also had privileges at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was a 1967 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a 1971 graduate of Georgetown Medical School, and served his internship, residency, and fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital. He was a Fellow of the American Boards of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Sleep Medicine. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Danielle R. DaSilva and her husband Michael, of Danielson, Connecticut and Lise N. Baillargeon of Washington, D.C.; a son, Luc A. Baillargeon and his wife Cari A. Daniels of Oceanside, California; and two grandchildren, Ryann Lee Baillargeon and Benjamin Michael DaSilva. He was predeceased by his son Marc A. Baillargeon. The funeral and burial will be private.
