I have many fond and loving memories of being a little kid and visiting my family in Cranston, Rhode Island. Two come to mind when thinking of Zio Mimi.

1. I was probably 6 years old and Zio had a Silver Dollar that, maybe he already knew he was going to give to me, or maybe not. But we talked and I was begging for it, and he asked me why I should have it. I don't remember all the reasons I said but the last was, "because I love you!" His face melted and he gave it to me.

2. My family are Yankee fans and Zio was a Boston fan of course. I forget what year it was but the Yankees beat the Red Sox and we mailed Zio a note and used black marker around the envelope to emphasize the Red Sox got killed in that series. He got a kick out of it.

We love you all and will miss Zio. There are no words to console. Grief changes over time but is always there. Your memories and his love will guide you through.
