

WARWICK - DETTLINGER, Donald R., Sr., 67, of Tollgate Road passed away Sunday surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elsie (Terpening) Dettlinger. They had been married for 44 years. He retired from Petro Oil Company in Tiverton in 2003. He had lived most of his life in Newport and Portsmouth, before moving to Warwick two years ago. Besides his wife, he is survived by 10 loving children; Charles W. Albright and his wife Dona of Vacaville, CA, Cynthia W. Sailes and her husband Frank of Newport, Tonya M. Williams and her husband Glenn of Portsmouth, Donna R. Halsband and her husband Scott of Warwick, Danette R. McManus of Portsmouth, Donald R. Dettlinger, Jr and his wife Cindy of Tiverton, Mark A. Dettlinger and his wife Melissa of Little Rock, AR, Tonya M. Dettlinger of Colorado, Heidi R. Rosa and her husband Matthew of Portsmouth, and Marc C. St. Germaine of Woonsocket; and his sister Carol Terpening of Cape Coral, FL. He was also the proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who he loved dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-4pm, followed by a memorial service at 4pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick, to which family and friends are invited.
