

Doris M. Wagner (Desaulniers) , 86, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Mount Saint Rita Health Center in Cumberland, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, John A. Kennedy. She was the wife of Lewis Wagner. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Mildred (Lyons) Desaulniers. She worked at Lucille’s Bridal Shop in North Providence, for 10 years, prior to retiring. An avid New England sports fan, she loved the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and the New England Patriots. Doris loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and close friends. Besides her husband, she leaves her children, John D. Kennedy, and his wife, Mary Lou, of Nashua, NH, Joan M. Bernard, of Plymouth, MA, and Maureen A. Kennedy, and her spouse, Chris Faria, of Cranston; siblings, Robert Desaulniers, of South Kingstown and Joan Dawson, of FL; five grandchildren, Brian Kennedy, and his wife, Emily, of South Walpole, MA; Alicia Peterson, and her husband Brian, of Cumberland, RI, Jeffrey Bernard, of Bethel, ME, Matthew Kennedy, and his fiancé, Kaitlyn, of Mahwah, NJ and Patrick Bernard, of Wakefield, MA, and six great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Roland and Norman Desaulniers. Her funeral with visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 7:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in the Holy Name Church, 99 Camp Street, Providence. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mount St. Rita Health Centre, 15 Sumner Brown Road, Cumberland, RI 02864 in her memory would be appreciated.
