

Providence Dorothy Ann Desaulniers, 83, of Providence, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland J. Desaulniers. They were happily married for sixty-one years before his passing in May. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Walter W. and Marie A. (McDonald) Decedric, she was a lifelong Providence resident. Dorothy was as a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and Roger Williams Hospital for several years, and later worked at various Providence Health Centers as a registered nurse for twenty years, retiring in 1994. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Saint Xavier Academy and a 1950 graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Saint Xavier Academy Alumnae Association and Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association.She was a faithful communicant of Saint Pius V Church. She leaves a son, David J. Desaulniers and his wife Wendy; a daughter, Susan M. Richardson and her husband Kenneth; four grandchildren, Devon J. and Derek J. Desaulniers, and Kayla A. and Rebecca R. Richardson; and a brother, Robert W. Decedric. The funeral will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 am in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday, 4-8 pm.
