Manchester, Dorothy C. (Bauer) age 89, passed away on April 11, 2011. She was the wife of the late Albert Manchester.Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Baker) Bauer.She was the loving mother of Diane Manchester , Mary Abbott and husband Harry, William Manchester and wife Patricia, Elizabeth Iafrate and Husband Frank, Karen Pontrelli and husband David, James Manchester , David Manchester, Lisa Leonard and husband Ronald, and Catherine Rickert and husband Spencer. Grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 2. She was also the grandmother of the late Andrew Fernald and sister of the late Edward and Richard Bauer.Prior to raising her children, Mrs. Manchester was a LPN with RI Hospital, she was also a published poet, and a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic ( Providence College Chapter), RI Right to Life, Catholics United for Life and Legion of Mary at St. Rocco.Most of all she was a loving and caring person and a mother who was devoted to her family.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on FRIDAY at 9am in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave, Johnston.Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park.For online expressions of sympathy, visit www.boyleandsonfuneralhome.com
