

West Warwick Dorothy Marion (Lent) McPhillips, 93, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 25, 2016. She was the wife of the late George R. McPhillips. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John Mervyn and Marion (McKay) Lent. She is survived by her daughter Gail McPhillips Arsenault; daughter Lee McPhillips Radlo and her husband Chuck Radlo; grandson Jack W. Daniels Jr. and his wife Lorrie; granddaughter Kayla D. Martineau and her daughter Alexandra Nelson; granddaughter Carrie E. Ciccarone and her husband Albert and their daughter Isabella Rose; granddaughter Kathryn R. Leonard and her husband Philip and their son Philip V "Finn"; son-in-law Joseph R. Trainor and his children Jackie and her husband Patrick and their children Jack and Delaney; Joseph R. Trainor Jr. and his daughters Amanda and Samantha. Dorothy is now joined with her late daughter, Karen A. Trainor, who predeceased her in 2012 and her great-grandson Jack who passed in 2015 and her sister, Shirley Kenahan. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends.Dorothy was a graduate of Saint Xavier's Academy where she was known for her beautiful voice. Both she and her husband George were accomplished singers who met singing in church. Dorothy was a longtime employee of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company, "Ma Bell". In retirement she took up quilting, painting and enjoyed her weekly card group. She was renowned for her chicken salad and her spritz cookies. She spent her life devoted to her family and friends. In return, she was beloved by the many who shared in her life and love. Arrangements are entrusted to the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 3, in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, to which are invited. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of Dorothy's late husband and in memory of their enduring love and devotion.
