

PROVIDENCE - Incera, Dr. Alfredo C., 88, of Smith Street, died Wednesday at The Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Carmen Miro Incera. In November they would celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Born in Santander, Spain, a son of the late Flavio and Vicenta (Soriano) Incera, he spent much of his life in Havana, Cuba. He received a doctorate degree in law from the University of Havana and practiced law there until coming to the United States with his wife and children in 1962. In 1964 he began his second career as a professor at Providence College, where he taught Spanish Civilization and Spanish Literature. During that time, he authored "Compendio de la Civilizacion Iberoamericano". He retired in 1988. He had also been very active relocating Cuban immigrants into the community. He was a dedicated husband and father. Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves 7 children; Alfred Incera of Warwick, Margarita Gutierrez of Brooklyn, CT. , Carmen Robichaud of Cranston, William Incera of Windham, NH , Lory Fitzgerald of East Greenwich, Alex Incera of Pomfret, CT and Christine Hoskins of Glocester; his sister Conchita Canero of Miami, FL, 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.
