Edmund Durand

Edmund Durand, 81, of Holly Hill, Florida, formerly of Warren, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann (DeFusco) Durand and the former husband of the late Alice Flora (Fortin) Durand.Born in Bristol, RI on April 9, 1936, he was a son of the late George T. Durand and Anna (Medeiros) Durand.Ed lived in Bristol for many years before moving to Barrington. He worked for Ledlow Construction in Barrington before moving to Warren and working for Lloyd Manufacturing for many years. He was a member of the Portuguese Club in Warren. Ed and his wife Shirley moved to Florida and worked for many years in maintenance for both McDonald's & IHOP Restaurants.Eddie is survived by his children, Edmund Durand, and Janet of MA, Richard Durand, and Jennifer of FL, Michael Durand and Cindy of MA, Denise Vanasse, and her late husband, Lou of RI, Anthony Durand, and Melissa of MA, Kimberly Hughes, and Calvin of RI, Renee Durand, and John Bettencourt of FL, Donna Dupre, and Gary of RI, Pamela Borges, and Ryan Hunt of FL, and a step daughter Mary Ann Thorburne, and Eric Levasseur of FL; grandchildren, Belinda Durand, Amber Durand, Richard Durand, Billy Durand, Dakota Durand, Jimmy Durand and Christopher Quattrini ,Amy Humphrey and Beth Jones, Michael and Eric Durand, Jonathon Durand and Elizabeth DaRosa , Gary, Russell and Melissa Dupre, Alicia Goddu, Tracey Crossley and Lou’s daughter, Erin Major, Rick Thibeault, Larry Thibeault and Cassie Murphy, Elaine Counterman, Rebecca Counterman, Tammy Durand, Matthew Durand, Jessica Durand and Megan Durand, Joseph and Angel Borges, Richard J. Snyder, April Miller, Jessica Thrift, and Celine Mello; many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Durand, of RI;a sister, Frances Tarpey, of CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Durand, Elsie Durand.According to Ed’s wishes, all funeral services will be private. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
