Edward F. Barry, Jr

Providence: Barry, Edward F. Jr., 80, of Pleasant Valley Parkway, died Tuesday at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston. He was the husband of Mary P. (O'Brien) Barry for 57 years.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Cora (Finnigan) Barry, Sr.Edward was a cartographer for the Defense Mapping Agency for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in 1945 and Providence College in 1950. He was a World War II Coast Guard Veteran. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Kevin V. Barry of New York, NY, Edward P. Barry of Madison, CT and Paul F. Barry of Providence, a daughter, Christine Saccoccio of Cranston, five grandchildren, Joseph D., Edward A. and Patrick S. Saccoccio and Edward G. and Katie E. Barry and 4 great grandchildren. His funeral and visitation will be held on Friday at 8:30am in the Russell J. Boyle&Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Academy Ave, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.In lieu of flowers, donations to Harmony Hill School, Absalona Hill Rd., Glocester, RI 02814 in his memory would be appreciated.
