Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Claire (Dorais) Trainor.
Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam era. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career in manufacturing before joining BJ’s Wholesale Club, where he worked for many years and eventually retired as Inventory Manager.
A talented and passionate photographer, Edward especially enjoyed freelance photography and had a lifelong fascination with documenting fires and fire apparatus, an interest inspired by his father’s service as a firefighter. Edward, along with his grandson Tyler, enjoyed placing friendly bets on Little League baseball games, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Edward will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make others laugh.
In addition to his wife, Edith, he leaves his loving children, Robert A. Trainor and Tracy E. White; his devoted grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, and Joshua White; Matthew, Horizon, and Emma Trainor; and Gloria Olson; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Astro and Luna. He was the brother of John Trainor, Michael Trainor, and Mary Golomiewski, and the late Gerald and Donald Trainor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4th from 9:00-11:00 am with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, RI. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
