North KingstownEleanor M. "Tiny" Alger, 78, of Lowell Avenue, died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of the late Sylvanus E. Alger. Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Alves) Resendes, she lived in North Kingstown for the past thirty-seven years, previously living in Warwick. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, and also traveled extensively throughout Europe and Canada. She leaves three daughters, Annmarie Lepley, Jane A. Alger, with whom she lived, and Sylvia L. Rose; three sons, Edward J. Alger, Michael Alger and David R. Alger; a brother, Henry Resendes; a sister, Louise Mottram, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen A. Alger, and a step-son, Philip E. Alger. The funeral will be held Thursday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Bernard Church, 410 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Wednesday, 5-7 pm.
