

Eleanor T. Perdue, of East Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Perdue, and the devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie (Costello) Conley. She was predeceased by her cherished brothers, Joseph “Bud” Conley and Raymond Conley.
Eleanor is survived by her loving children: Kelly Accardi and her husband Gabriel, Mary Beth Perdue, Pamela Schwieger and her husband Hans, and Timothy Perdue. She was the proud and devoted grandmother to Nicholas Accardi, Megan Accardi, and Luke Schwieger.
Born in Providence, Eleanor graduated from St. Xavier’s Academy and later worked for many years in the Controller’s Office for the City of East Providence. A woman of deep faith, she was a devout Catholic and long-time parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church in Rumford, RI, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Her spiritual dedication extended beyond her parish through her work as an Associate of Our Lady of La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, MA, where she served on both the local and National Association Boards. At LaSalette, she also served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Liturgical Coordinator and co-leader of Devine Mercy devotions for many years.
Eleanor lived a vibrant and active life. She loved all sports and continued to play tennis into her early 80s. She will be remembered for her kindness, generous spirit, deep devotion to her faith and family, and her strength and grace throughout her life.
Eleanor was a loving mother and grandmother, a treasured friend, and a gentle soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saint Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Margaret’s Church and/or LaSalette National Shrine in Attleboro, MA.
