Eleanor T. (Ayoub) Thomas, age 97, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William G. Thomas, with whom she shared 45 happy and devoted years of marriage.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Eleanor was the cherished daughter of the late Antoun and Julia B. (Kassar) Ayoub of Pacific Street. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried those strong family values with her throughout her life. She relocated to Rhode Island to marry William and establish their home together; a place she would lovingly call home for the rest of her days. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, embracing her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with unwavering love and dedication. Her home was a place of warmth, faith, and quiet strength; where traditions were honored, laughter was shared, and everyone felt welcome.
Eleanor is survived by her four children: Robert Thomas and his wife Klare; Christopher Thomas and his wife Deborah; Albert Thomas; and Diana Thomas Fallone. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Alexander Fallone, Kara Petrillo, Krista Schmidt, Julie Wilson, Michael Thomas, and Stephen Thomas, and a devoted great-grandmother to Nora, Lila, Rocco, Harry, and Connor. She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews in New York and New Jersey who will cherish her memory.
She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Albert, Edmund, Raymond, and George Ayoub.
Eleanor’s gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and deep love for her family will be remembered always. She will be dearly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
