Eleonora Spadarella

SPADARELLA, Eleonora, 95, of Lexington Park, Maryland, formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on June 13, 2026, at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of the late Ferdinando Spadarella and the devoted mother of the late Frank Spadarella.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 26, 1930, she was the cherished daughter of the late Francesco and Isabella (Pugliese) Cairone. In 1956, Eleonora courageously journeyed to the United States, where she built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family.

Eleonora dedicated many years of her life to her craft as a tailor, working for 25 years in the Men’s Tailor Shop at Sears Roebuck & Co. before her retirement. She later continued her work at the tailor shops of Jordan Marsh and Macy’s, where her skill, precision, and pride in her work were admired by all who knew her.

She leaves her loving son, Anthony Spadarella and his wife Joyce, who will forever cherish her guidance, strength, and unconditional love. She was the dear sister of Teresa Porretta, Margherita DiFabio, and Paolo Cairone, and was predeceased by her siblings Crescenzo, Carmine, Aldo, Remo, and Cesare Cairone. Eleonora will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, as well as her dear friends from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lexington Park, Maryland.

Eleonora’s life was one of quiet strength, devotion, and grace. Her deep love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her gentle presence will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., with a funeral home service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence. Entombment will follow in the Our Risen Christ Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
