

Elizabeth D. Benoit, 93, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2011 surrounded during her last days by family and friends. She was the devoted wife of the late Everett J. Benoit Sr., who passed away on December 30, 2010, and to whom she was married for 72 wonderful years.
Born in Providence on September 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Carney) King; beloved mother of Denise Benoit of Jamestown, Everett J. Benoit Jr. of Smithfield, and Robert J. Benoit and his wife Marie of Harmony; grandmother of 3; great-grandmother of 3; and sister of the late Raymond King, Mary Healey, Esther Matile and Pauline Thayer.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Classical High School and the RI Board of Realtors, and had worked as a realtor along with her brother Raymond for many years. She was also employed by Brown University and served as a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels. The job at which she was best and most enjoyed was that of being a loving wife and homemaker to Everett and devoted mother to her 3 children. She had also been a member of St. Michael’s Ave Maria, and most recently, a communicant of St. Philip’s Church in Greenville.
Visitation will be held Monday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville, followed by burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
