Elizabeth Dyer

Providence Elizabeth (Dillon) Dyer, 80, of Dover Street, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Dyer. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late David and Eleanor (McDermott) Dillon. Mrs. Dyer worked in the insurance industry for many years before retiring. She was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Blessed Sacrament School Mothers Club, the Mount Pleasant Senior Citizens, and Compassionate Friends. She leaves a son, Dr. Robert K. Dyer and his wife Gail; three daughters, Elizabeth M. Dyer Wiant and her husband Steven, Kathleen A. Dyer-Peak and Margaret M. Dyer; a sister, Helen Gilroy; six loving grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was pre-deceased by a son, Dennis M. Dyer, and a brother, David R. Dillon. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 7:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 7 pm.
