

Warwick Elizabeth G. Goodwin - Lane, 79, of Wethersfield Commons, Warwick died peacefully Tuesday at Home & Hospice Care of RI surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Frank S. Lane.Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Margaret (Levine) Goodwin. She graduated from Blessed Sacrament School in 1945, Saint Patrick High School in 1948, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Saint Agnes College, Baltimore, Maryland in 1957. Elizabeth earned her Master of Arts Degree from Rhode Island College in 1973. Mrs. Lane was a teacher for the Cranston School Department for twenty-one years, at the May Westcott and the Oaklawn Elementary Schools, before retiring in 1998. Before teaching in Cranston, she taught in Elementary Schools in the Baltimore, Maryland area for 18 years. She lived in Cranston before moving to Warwick in 1998. After retiring, she was a substitute teacher at Saint Francis of Assisi School, Warwick and in the Cranston School System for several years.She was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Church for many years.Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, M. Norma Dexter and Louise A. Teeven, both of Warwick; a brother, Alfred E. Goodwin of Little Compton; and many nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late John A. "Jack" Goodwin (Ret. Cmdr. U S Navy), Raymond J. Goodwin, Francis X. Goodwin, Norman Goodwin and Margaret Goodwin. The funeral will be held Monday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117 Exit 10A) Warwick. Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. Graveside burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Sunday, 3 - 7 pm.
