

Emilio “Mel” Marsoli, 90, passed away on October 28, 2010 at the Holiday Retirement Home. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Antoinetta (Silvestri) Marsoli. He and his wife of 63 years, the late Amelia (Pilkanis) Marsoli, lived in Cranston and Barrington before becoming longtime residents of Cumberland.
He was the beloved father of Julie A. Kearns of Woonsocket, David M. Marsoli, DVM of Fort Myers, Florida, and Lisa A. Marsoli and her husband, Timothy Lynch, of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by three granddaughters: Katie Kearns, Kara Kearns-Pelletier, and Emma Lynch. He was the brother of Anne M. Young and the late Albert and Domenic Marsoli.
Emilio was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1944, and received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during his tour of duty in Italy.
He worked at the American Insulated Wire Corp. for thirty years, where he was the Data Processing Manager until his retirement in 1987.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1st from 9:30-10:30 am at the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home at 971 Branch Avenue in Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Edward Church at 997 Branch Avenue in Providence.
