

Colonel Estelle Therese Therien, USAF retired, age 90, of Greenville passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Lydia (Pelletier) Therien and sister of the late Doris T. Lamontagne.
Estelle completed Nursing School at Sturdy Memorial Hospital with honors in 1966. She graduated with her Baccalaureate in Nursing from St. Anselms College in 1970. She was then commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant Air Force Nurse in 1971 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She had numerous stations across the United States over her 25 year career. She retired as a Colonel working for the United States Public Health Service in Washington DC in 1996. She enjoyed her retirement in New Hampshire, Florida and Rhode Island.
She is survived by her niece Denise Cabral and nephew Ronald Lamontagne, as well as her great nephews Jason Gauthier, Christopher Gauthier, Ron Lamontagne and great niece Davina Large.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, 301 Wrentham Rd, Bellingham, MA. Luncheon to follow at Savini’s Pomodoro in Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rhode Island ASPCA.
