Eugene Ronald Martinelli

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Anna (Lombardo) Martinelli.

Gene was a member of the R.I. Carpenter’s Union for over 40 years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Smithfield Sportsman’s Club, the American Legion and the Cranston Senior Center. He enjoyed golfing and playing pool everyday with his friends at the Senior Center and most importantly spending most of his time with his grandchildren.

He was the devoted father to Lisa Parrillo and her husband Eric and Dina Martinelli and cherished grandfather to Eric and Ryan Parrillo. He was also the brother to his twin sister Jeanne Tomao and her husband Michael and the late Angelo Martinelli, Dolores Phillips, Anna Sepe and her twin brother Angelo “Sonny” Martinelli. He is also survived by his brother in law Manuel Phillips and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 9:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Graveside burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 5-7 PM.
