Eugenia Maria Castillo

Eugenia M. (Collado) Castillo, age 74, of Providence, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of Luis R. Castillo Sr., to whom she has been married for the past 53 years.

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, she was the daughter of the late Xavier and Graciella (Vela) Collado. She immigrated to the United States in 1970 and lived in Boston prior to settling in Providence over 50 years ago. Eugenia loved being in the United States and became a U.S. Citizen.

Eugenia was a stay-at-home mom and then went to work as an assembler in the jewelry industry at the T-Sardelli and Sons, Inc. Jewelry Company in Providence for many years before her retirement in 1999. She loved to cook and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she has survived by one daughter, Wendy Parks and her husband Barry Parks, Jr., two grandchildren, Michael and Giuliana Parks all of Cranston and one brother, Ricardo Collado of Guatemala. She was the sister of the late Jose Xavier Collado.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:00AM in Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
