Born in Providence on June 27, 1951, Francis was the son of the late Francis J. Murphy and Anne (McCarron) Murphy.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Dempsey and her husband Thomas of Barrington, his brother William of Lincoln, nephew Ryan Dempsey of Los Feliz, CA, and nieces Kathryn Moseley of Norwell, MA, and Caitlin Hayden of Pascoag. He is also survived by two great nephews, Lucas and Marcus Hayden and two great nieces Fiona and Rowan Moseley.
Francis was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School and Rhode Island College. He was also a pressman for the Providence Journal for many years.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
