Frank A. Rao, 96, passed away on September 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Rourke) Rao. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Angelina (Ravita) Rao. Frank was employed by the family business, Rao Brothers, for many years. A true patriot, he was a proud member of the United States Navy, serving in WW II. Frank loved his country and his lifelong home, Rhode Island. His greatest joy was enjoying a good meal surrounded by his family. Frank is survived by his daughter, Joan Abrames, and his sister, Mary Blasi. He was the brother of the late Lena McDonough, Carmine, John, and Robert Rao. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Heather, Seth, and Maggy; and his beloved great grandchildren, Jackson, Hazel, Harry, Ava, Charlie, and Max. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation, Tuesday, 4 – 8 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, WARWICK. Funeral Wednesday at 930 am, followed by a funeral home service at 10 am. Burial in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
