

Providence: Viti Frank J., 65, of Bradley St. and Rotonda West, FL, passed away on Tuesday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (Harwood) Viti.Born in Providence, he was the son of Annette J. (LaPorte)Viti of Providence and the late Frank V. Viti.Frank joined the Providence Fire Department in 1972. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant and retired in 1991. He servedmost of his years at La Salle Square and later at the Humboldt Ave Fire Station.He was a member of the Providence Retired Police and Fire Association and the Providence Permanent Firemen's Relief Association and a former member of the Providence Firefighters IAFF Local 799.He was a graduate of La Salle Academy in 1963. He was a member of the Loyal order of Moose, the Fraternal order of Eagles inEnglewood, FL. He was a member of the Sons of Amvets.Frank loved his New York Yankees and New England Patriots.Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sons, Jesse T. Viti of Cranston and Michael P. Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Alicia of North Providence, two brothers, Thomas R. Viti of Somerset, MA and Robert B. Viti of Cranston, two grandsons, Michael and Matthew.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass ofChristian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Pius V. Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.Visiting hours, Friday, 4-8 pm.In lieu of flowers, donations to Heritage Hills Nursing Centre Activity Fund, 80 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917 in his memory would be appreciated.
