Frederick Blazar

Born February 1, 1925

FREDERICK BLAZAR, 87, of Cranston and Palm Beach, FL, died March 25, 2012. He was the husband of Sylvia (Stone) Blazar. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Morris and Ida (Dubovick) Blazar. Mr. Blazar was the owner and president of the former Ford Realty for over 50 years. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was an active participant in the landing at Normandy on D-Day. Mr. Blazar was a former member of Temple Torat Yisrael and Temple Emanu-El, and was a member of Doric Lodge of the Masons. Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Dr. Bruce Blazar and his wife Lisa of Minneapolis, MN and Dr. Steven Blazar and his wife Cheryl of Providence, and his grandchildren; Michael, Brittany, Melanie, Ilyse, Jonathan and Max. He was the brother of the late Sydney and Burton Blazar. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27th at 1:00 PM in Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope St., Providence with burial in Swan Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Jewish Community Day School, 85 Taft Ave., Providence, RI 02906. Shiva will be held at 252 Freeman Pkwy on Tue 7-9 and Wed 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
