Born in Providence he was the son of the late Gilmore W. Maynard, Sr. and Dorothy L. ( Adams )
After graduating from Central High School, Gilmore served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Gilmore had worked at Union Paper, was in the Army Reserves for 20 years and retired as a Supervisor from the United States Postal Service main office in Providence.
He is survived by his children Heidi Hartman of Warwick, Jason W. Maynard of Warwick, his siblings, Richard Maynard and his wife Allene of Providence, Alan Maynard and his wife Angie of East Providence, Dennis E. Maynard and his wife Charlene of Rehoboth, MA, Stephen Maynard and his wife Vondella of Upper Marlboro, MD, his granddaughter, Monica A. Morrero of Danbury, CT, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Gwendolyn Vaughan, Vioris Farrell and Robert Maynard.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. His burial will be in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
