Giovanni A. “John” Vecchiarelli, 90 of Cranston passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 15, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Vittoria C. (Ciocca) Vecchiarelli for 63 years and son of the late Paolo and Maria (Damata) Vecchiarelli.
Giovanni served in the Italian Army for 6 years before coming to the United States in 1949 where he worked in the jewelry industry and later at the Cranston Print Works as a machine operator before retiring in 1981. He was an avid gardener and wine maker who enjoyed his family.
He was the beloved father of Anthony Vecchiarelli and his wife Laura and Linda Parker and her husband Peter; grandfather of Nicholas, Thomas and Ashley and brother of Salvatore Vecchiarelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:30 am in St. Bartholomew Church, 305 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. For on-line condolences, visit www.romanofuneralhome.com.
